Appointment/Membership to the Committee
The Members of the Committee are appointed jointly by the Chair of the ACS Board of Directors and the ACS President, who receive recommendations from the Committee on Committees (ConC). Any ACS member interested in serving on WCC should send an email to wcc@acs.org and secretary@acs.org.
All ACS members can indicate interest in serving on the WCC through the ACS Committee Preference Form sent by ConC. The online committee preference form is open April 15 through July 15, 2022. If you want further information about the Committee, you can submit your name at wcc@acs.org.
Members
- Contribute to activities, vote on official committee actions
- 3-year terms, with a maximum of two terms (6 years)
Consultants
- Provide specialized knowledge, expertise, and/or experience. Likely to have specific assignment
- One year appointment or until assignment is complete (generally <5 years)
Chair
Appointed in the same manner as the Members
Committee Associates
- Learn about the committee, contribute to activities, participate in “sense of the committee” votes
- One year appointment; renewable appointments; number of associates vary according to committees
