ACS Fellows Nomination

inda Shimizu – University of South Carolina, is a professor of chemistry with a passion for molecular design, supramolecular chemistry, and building research environments that foster discovery and growth. She has a B.A. from Wellesley College and received a Ph.D. from MIT. Linda currently leads efforts for the ACS Women Chemists Committee Rising Star Award program, provides support for the committee’s national award nominations, and organizes themed symposia for ACS spring/fall meetings, local section events.

Gloria Thomas-Fuller – Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge, is an associate professor of chemistry. Gloria received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Southern University and A&M College and earned a doctorate in chemistry at LSU as a Louisiana Board of Regents Fellow and an American Association of University Women Fellow. She was a member of the ACS Women Chemists Committee for several years. As a WCC Program Manager, she led efforts to establish the Women Chemists of Color (WCoC) Subcommittee which included organizing the Women Chemists of Color Summit, programming for the ACS spring/fall meetings, planning webinars, and creating a social media channel to increase awareness and engagement. Gloria organized special events at the ACS meetings – the Women in the Chemical Enterprise Breakfast, the WCC Luncheon, and symposia.
